KRC Class Visits

Overview of KRC Class Visits

KRC Ambassadors can visit classes to present a slideshow about how undergraduate students can get involved in research at KU. This page is intended for faculty or staff who would like ambassadors to present in their classes.

Please click the button below to fill out the class visit request form.

What do class visits cover?

KRC Ambassadors can come to the first or last ten minutes of your class and give a brief presentation of research opportunities on campus. The information covered in the slideshow presentation includes:

  • Information about the Center for Undergraduate Research & Fellowships and the Kansas Research Collective
  • Awards, fellowships, and scholarships available to undergraduate students
  • The many types of research that students can engage in, no matter their field or interests
  • Upcoming events by CURF and the KRC
  • How to get in contact with further questions, including through KRC office hours, email, and social media

How does it work?

First, we ask you to fill out the form linked here and at the top of the page. Results will automatically be sent to KRC Ambassadors, and we will try our best to match you with an ambassador who is knowledgeable about your class's field.

Then, once we receive your form submission, we will reach out to you via email to confirm the day, time, and location of the class you'd like us to visit.

For the visit itself, you can expect the following structure:

  • A KRC Ambassador will come to your class ~10 minutes before the presentation is set to begin. You can indicate on the form whether you'd like the ambassador to come at the beginning or end of your class.
  • Once you're ready for the ambassador to present, they will either use their personal laptop or the class computer to present the slideshow.
  • They will give the slideshow presentation for about 5 minutes.
  • They will facilitate questions after the presentation. If there aren't any questions, they will call on one or two students to ask about any ideas for research projects based on the student's field and personal interests. This section should last for a maximum of 5 minutes.
