Eva Toledo - 2025 Emerging Scholar

I do research regarding “Esoteric Fascism” and new age spirituality and how it has evolved from ancient mythology to various fringe extremist ideologies, and into online meme culture. Largely, I am interested in political research, especially about women’s and queer studies, as well as how language plays a role since I am a linguistics major. Through ES, I am able to bring my other research interests to the table and apply my knowledge of history, politics, and linguistics at the same time. My peer mentor was a big help in getting feedback for my various ES projects and making sure I got my hours right.
